National Bank of Belgium

The National Bank has been Belgium's central bank since 1850. It performs tasks in the general interest at both national and international level.

It is a public institution which has adopted the form of a public limited liability company. It does not have as its main object the creation of value for its shareholders. It has a special legal status and special organs and operating rules which distinguish it from other public limited liability companies.
