The Elizabethan Singers

Founded by their present conductor at the turn of the Millennium, The Elizabethan Singers derive their name from their repertoire, which spans all the centuries from Queen Elizabeth I to her namesake Queen Elizabeth II. The ensemble consists of 12 singers living in and around Zurich. Their programmes explore some of the highways and byways of British music, much of it almost unknown beyond the shores of English speaking countries. Within this broad spectrum, they combine both sacred and secular music, including madrigals and part songs, spiced with the odd dash of humour.

Their repertoire includes works by Tallis, Byrd, Dowland, Gibbons, Purcell, Handel, Stanford, Elgar, Britten, Rutter and many others.
