Kuwait English School (KES)

Kuwait English School was founded in 1979 by the School’s Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Jassim Al Saddah and by the Director Mrs. Rhoda Elizabeth Muhmood. Since this date the school has flourished and expanded and now educates over 2400 students. The School motto “The Aim makes Great the Life” is well reflected in the successes of the students on so many educational fronts.

The School is an Associated Member of ECIS (European Council for International Schools) and a member of BSME (British Schools in the Middle East). Following their education at KES, students of the Senior High School access many international educational institutions worldwide including; UK, USA, Canada, Egypt, Lebanon and local Kuwait Universities.

The School naturally divides into three main areas; KG/Prep, Primary and Senior High School. Each department is overseen and continually developed by vigilant Head teachers who, along with their staff teams, care deeply about education and the quality of life which the pupils are enabled to enjoy and benefit from both in and out of School. The sections of the School are as follows:

Preparatory KG/Infant Reception 3 – 5 years
Primary Infants (Years 1 and 2) 5 – 7 years
Primary Juniors (Years 3 – 6) 7 – 11 years
Senior High School (Years 7 – 11) 11 – 16 years
The Millennium Centre (Sixth Form – Years 12 & 13) 16 – 18 years

The Millennium Centre was established in 1997 to provide a more independent working environment for these older students. This centre is an ideal transition between the main High School and University allowing students to benefit from greater freedom and personal responsibility.

In addition to these three departments the school also has a Special Needs Department. “The Green Unit” is a school for children with moderate learning difficulties.
