Doing business in a foreign country with different culture and customs can be a very rigorous challenge, often involving running into unexpected obstacles.

The Office of the Foreign Investment Ombudsman (OIO) was created as a non-profit organization within KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) to help improve the investment environment and promote the success of foreign-invested companies in Korea by providing assistance in resolving difficulties the companies face both in business management and in daily life.

Over the last decade, the OIO has resolved 3,565 grievances filed by foreign-invested companies and it continues to give every one of your complaints the individual attention necessary to facilitate your business operations and to ensure that your decision to invest in Korea is the wisest and most rewarding possible.

The OIO operates a "Home Doctor" system, whereby specialists in various fields such as labor, taxation, finance, construction, etc. provide foreign-invested companies one-on-one service in investigating and resolving a wide range of grievances in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

I encourage you to contact our office whenever you experience any type of administrative or systemic problem in the course of doing business in Korea. Remember, we are standing by to troubleshoot on your behalf.
