Embassy of the Union of Myanmar in Canada

Myanmar established diplomatic relationship with Canada on 9 August 1958. Mah Tharay Sithu U Win , Ambassador of United States , was concurrently accredited to Canada. Myanmar had opened a chancery in Ottawa from 1963 to 1978. Maha Tharay Sithu James Barrington was accredited the first resident Ambassador of Myanmar to Canada. Subsequence to 1978, Myanmar closed the chancery and concurrently accredited  Myanmar Ambassadors in Washington  to Canada. On January 31, 1986, Myanmar reopened its Embassy in Ottawa with U Ba Thwin as Ambassador. Presently U Hau Do Suan is Ambassador of Myanmar to Canada.
