There are few wildlife habitats on earth so unspoilt as the Serengeti National Park.  It is wild, wonderful and spectacular. The friendly people, the Maasaai Mara is the mainstay of this ultimate wildlife destination in Africa. The Serengeti National Park has been the home of the Maasaai Mara people for many centuries and a visit to their villages are a must when you want to experience true African hospitality warmth.

Animals that can be encountered in the Serengeti  National Park include Africa’s famous Big Five (leopard, elephant, lion, buffalo, rhinoceros), Thompson’s gazelle, klipspringer, impala,  warthog,  giraffe, roan antelope,  lesser kudu, bushbuck, oryx, hartebeest, wild wildebeest,  striped and spotted hyena, eland, African golden wolf, Honey badger, cheetah, serval, African wild dog and many more.  For bird lovers the Serengeti National Park is one for the bucket list with more than 500 species of birds – Black crake, the Ashy starling, Ostrich, Hartlaub’s turaco, small finches, Ficher’s lovebird, red and yellow barbet to name but a few.

A spectacular annual wildlife event in the Serengeti National Park that shouldn’t be missed is the annual Great Wildebeest migration when the hooves of  1.5 million wildebeest, 200 000 zebra and a host of gazelle pound the  plains of the Serengeti on their trek to the grasslands of the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of fresh grass.

Tare weight maximum 2000 kg $40 US
