Passion for my profession, perfection in even the smallest details, and a strong interest in the uniqueness of every individual were the three reasons I decided to open this store almost 11 years ago. After working in the field as a wholesaler for many years, I wanted more contact with my clients and I wanted to be able to realise more of my own ideas about the possibilities of crafting the perfect glasses.

After completing my education as an optician in 1971, I was able to put my own ideas into practice working with Master Optician Manheim and in various collaborations with others, including famous glasses designer Jean d'Or.  Do you still remember the special “eye-catching” attention that  glasses had in various television programmes? In Ferry Maat’s NL Disco Show on Tros television, in the programme by Tineke on Veronica television.

Through experience and familiarity with the products, and through my developing knowledge of people, I almost always know how to get it exactly right. And I know about more than just the frames, I know how to give everyone crystal-clear vision as well. The combination of these elements, along with my ability to look at someone and recognise what they project internally and externally, enable me to make a product that suits every individual. It’s not just selling and it’s not just letting someone leave the store with new glasses. It’s much more than that. You can see a small selection of my glasses and sunglasses collection on the website. Famous Italian, German and French brands, along with my own special unique Arnold Booden collection. Unique glasses made of synthetic materials, buffalo horn and gold can are custom made in collaboration with the best German glasses studios.
