Van Velze’s opened it’s doors on 22 September 2008 with talented chocolatier and pâtissier Robbert Van Velze and partner, Irish native Deborah Kilroy at the helm.
A chance meeting in Australia 7 years ago brought together a shared vision of creating a business that provides luxury cakes and chocolates using responsibly sourced ingredients.
Deborah studied Hotel & Catering Management at D.I.T Cathal Brugha Street in Dublin and has many years experience in the hotel and catering industry. Robbert continues in a long family tradition of pastry chefs, who established their first business in Doorn (Utrecht) in 1885. After many years in the profession he spent time in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland working as a chef.
This experience is now skillfully combined at Van Velze’s to create a wide range of products blending traditional handcraftsmanship with modern culinary artistry.
