The German American Woman’s Club Stuttgart e.V. (GAWC) was founded in 1947 by American military wives and German wives. Beginning in 1951, women from other nations were also invited to become members of the club. We hope to promote friendship, international understanding and tolerance among people of different nationalities. Today our club has in total 380 members: 112 active Germans, 125 active Americans, 60 active Internationals as well as 83 Associates.

The German American Woman’s Club Stuttgart does not have a Clubhouse. Monthly meetings are generally held in restaurants or in American facilities - mostly in the morning. The programs include cultural events, speeches, concerts, coffees, lunches and excursions. Each member is asked to attend at least six events a year. An annual general business meeting and board elections take place in June.
