The American Women's Club of Luxembourg was founded in 1959. Its mission is to foster and encourage social, educational, cultural and philanthropic activities among its members in Luxembourg and to assist in furthering American-Luxembourg relations.

The AWCL Clubhouse is conveniently located with ample street parking in the Hollerich section of Luxembourg City. Bus Lines 8, 12 and 15 have stops within a couple blocks. Aside from holiday closings, the Clubhouse is open from September through May with limited hours during the summer months.

The AWCL is a member of the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas (FAWCO); which unites wome on issues that affect them (overseas voting and taxation, international domestic violence) and affect other women and children in need (access to clean water and sanitation, prevention of child sex trafficking, education). FAWCO holds special consultative status with the United Nations.

New Member Coffees

These coffees provide newcomers an opportunity to meet other newcomers as well as other members.  In this informal setting, held at the Clubhouse, a brief introduction to the club and to living in Luxembourg is presented.

Monthly General Meetings

These meetings provide a forum for members to stay abreast of club news and activities, to exchange experiences, to listen to informational and inspiring speeches and simply to meet and have fun.  We welcome new members and will introduce them to the club.  There is also an opportunity for all to ask questions that help make living in Luxembourg easier and more enjoyable.

Fund Raisers

There are annual events that help raise money for various charitable causes:  Trick or Treat, the International Bazaar, Toys for Tots, and a fall and spring fundraiser.

Activities

Our diverse membership has helped the club establish a variety of activities.

There are three different book clubs: the Book Club, the Evening Pot Luck Book Club and Paperbacks and Potpourri.

Other activities include: Bridge Club, Craft Club, Scrapbooking, Quilting, Hiking Club, Ramblers, French Conversation, Ladies Luncheon Delight, Walking Shelter Dogs, Tennis and TGIF just to name a few.

For those with young children, Moms and Tots has Tots Sing-A-Long, Spring is in the Air, Moms Night Out, play dates and babysitting lists.
