American Church in Berlin

Established in the 19th century, the American Church in Berlin (ACB) is an ecumenical, international church located in the Schoeneberg district of Berlin.

The church is know for its warmth and welcome 
to newcomers and visitors to Berlin.

The origins of the church date back to about 1865, 
when American families met in private homes to worship. 
In 1903 it was able to dedicate its own church building in the "American quarter" 
of Berlin-Schoeneberg, near Nollendorfplatz.

The Nollendorfplatz church was destroyed in a bombing in 1944.
The congregation continued from 1945 
by sharing facilities with various German churches in Berlin-Zehlendorf.

On November 8, 2002 ACB moved into the Luther Church, only meters away 
from the original sanctuary that was destroyed in 1944.
