Dutch Language Trainings

I offer ‘tailor-size’ Dutch language trainings for foreigners. Absolute beginners as well as advanced students are welcome. Students can come here for various reasons, some of them need basic Dutch so they can survive in Holland,

others need business Dutch for their work and advanced Dutch speakers like to learn how to write perfectly in Dutch. I also train students for the NT2-1 and -2 exam and the Inburgerings exam.

How to learn a language

I try to create an informal atmosphere during the courses to make the students feel comfortable. I think it is the best way to learn a language quickly, with good and lasting results. As mentioned before, I offer ‘tailor size courses’. Each student is an individual to me demanding his own way of learning. This depends on his (her) mother tongue, his level in Dutch, his learning capabilities and his wishes. Listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are taught at all levels as well as cultural courses which focus on Dutch culture and give you an idea of how to feel at home with the Dutch. I have many years of experience with people from all over the world, from very different backgrounds (cultural, educational and class). I have knowledge of different ways of learning and I have many books and material for Dutch lessons.

Where and when

It is possible to attend a weekly course or an intensive course. For example you can attend 2 hour lessons once or twice a week but you can also follow an intensive course and have 3 hour lessons, five times a week. These are examples, it all depends on your wishes and budget. I have facilities for private courses and two-person courses. I can also arrange lessons at your home or ‘in company’ and groups can be larger then. Courses can start any time. Day- as well as evening classes are possible (from 8.30 am till 9.30 pm). Lessons are usually given in the centre of Amsterdam (Waterlooplein area) and it is within easy reach (underground, tram, bus) .

Talent Taaltrainingen NL was set up by me, Nicole van Schaijik. I did a teachers college, Dutch language and Art, and I’m teaching since 1995. I learned three foreign languages at school and I also lived in different countries where I had to survive myself in another culture and with another language! I’m teaching students from all over the world and even if I don’t speak the language I often know the problems a student with a certain mother tongue can have with learning Dutch.Several other well-skilled Dutch teachers are also in charge. We have been teaching for various companies and many private people.
