Debbie has had dancing in her blood since the age of three, it was then that she started dance lessons in her home town of Hull taking exams in Ballet, Tap and Modern.
At the age of ten she was awarded a Royal Academy of DancingYorkshire Scholarship which entailed a twice weekly, 100 mile, round trip from Hull to York where she attended lessons with Louise Browne OBE. After spending five years as a Scholar Debbie earnt a coverted place on the dancers course at the Royal Ballet School, London, and was fortunate to take part in school productions at the Royal Opera House and Sadler's Wells.
Debbie's dancing career was halted due to an accident and it was from there that she made the decision to teach.
In 1989 Debbie moved from London to Milton Keynes where she taught in an independant day school and also for two art centres, entering many pupils for RAD examinations producing excellent results. Her pupils took part in the Bucks Regional dance shows held annually, and she was well known for her stunning costumes and innovative dance choreography.
After moving to Worcestershire Debbie founded Pointeworks School of dance in 2001 and, in under a year was entering her first pupils for RAD exams. Pointeworks goes from strength to strength, with over 400 RAD exam results and four shows to its' credit. The School now encompasses three areas in two Counties.
Debbie has one final wish! One day she wants to build a dance studio for Pointeworks and all the girls. Her passion for the Schools success is only matched by the love and commitment to her pupils, and so, the story continues...
