Preparing girls and young women to take their place in the twenty-first century world is a task and a privilege far beyond anything that Mary Lowther Ranney—a professional and enlightened woman of her day—might have imagined when she founded this school in 1913.

The pace of daily living—its competitiveness as well as its opportunities—challenges Westridge to provide a relevant academic environment that would have been unrecognizable in the early years of the last century.

Today, a Westridge student is engaged by a developmentally appropriate and intellectually stimulating curriculum as she progresses from Lower, to Middle, to Upper School. Students find balance among humanities, mathematics, science and technology, fine and performing arts, and physical education classes on a six-day rotation schedule.

Under the guidance of a dedicated and knowledgeable faculty and administration, students entering the school at any grade are encouraged and supported in their efforts to become discerning, independent learners—capable and committed to excellence and goodness at Westridge, in college, and beyond.
