An Independent day and boarding school located in beautiful countryside near Bristol. High academic standards, excellent facilities and a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

Sidcot School is a thriving independent co-educational day and boarding school situated in 150 acres of beautiful countryside on the edge of the Mendip Hills, close to the cities of Bath, Bristol and Wells. Sidcot offers a blend of excellent traditional and state-of-the-art facilities to its 480 pupils aged between 3 to 18 years. Our facilities are excellent. In 1999 we opened a new learning resource centre and Sixth Form Centre. We have a first class Sports Centre and swimming pool; 20 acres of playing fields; a riding centre; a very modern science block; a music school with a professional recording studio; a large art and design department; excellent computing facilities – students have access to their own email accounts, school intranet and the internet.Sidcot shares the characteristics that make all Quaker schools distinctive. The respect accorded to all members of the community encourages a self-discipline which creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The equality and dignity extends to every member of the community – staff and pupils alike and every child is valued for what they have to offer. However, the Quaker approach to religion means that the spiritual principles which guide the school do not provoke difficulties for those of other faiths. Quakers are international in outlook and at Sidcot we value international links made by students from 20 nationalities.Sidcot has a conviction that education is about much more than passing examinations. Public examinations are given due attention, with excellent results (we are the leading North Somerset school) and four of our students in the previous two years have been in the top five in the UK for academic results. In addition more than 60 regular clubs and activities are offered, which extends the educational experience for each pupil in the school, in the local community and internationally. For a look around the school please join one of our weekly tours to see our facilities and to meet informally with the Head. These take place every Wednesday morning during term time. Our Open Morning takes place early in October and we also hold an Interactive Open Evening later in October where parents and children are invited to participate in fun curriculum-based activities. For further information on these events and the school please contact Admissions (tel: 01934 843102, email: [...], www.sidcot.org.uk). Come and see our school in action!

Academic, music, sports and Sixth Form scholarships are available. Quaker bursaries are available for members of the Society of Friends.
