Seisen International School

SIS is an all-girls’, grades 1-12 Catholic school, with co-ed Montessori Kindergarten, located in Tokyo, Japan. Students and faculty from over 50 countries are represented at SIS, with English being the main language of instruction. 

The Catholic foundation of our educational program is the belief that the basic attitude of humanity is reverence toward God and an appreciation of the preciousness of life. We believe in educating the whole person in order to promote moral, physical, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional development. We seek to provide ample opportunities for our students to discover God’s love in their lives, to have a personal encounter with Christ, and to grow within a strong framework of Christian values.

As Seisen serves an international community, it is important that our students learn tolerance, respect, and an appreciation for the beauty and infinite variety in the lives and cultures of people from all countries, so that they leave Seisen with some realization of the oneness of the human race. We want our students to develop a sense of self-respect and a deep appreciation for the dignity of every human being, and to act in accordance with theses values. We encourage students to develop a lifelong love of learning which combines imaginative insight with critical thinking so that they may become responsible citizens, equipped to deal with a fast-changing world.
