In Primary education (3-12 years), Oak House is a British school. Founded back in 1968, it is run in line with the British education system, and is recognised and approved by both the Royal Inspectorate of her Majesty the Queen of England and by the Ministry of Education of the Government of Catalonia. In Spain as a whole, it is classified as a Mixed Foreign School under the provisions of a Ministerial Order (published in the Spanish State Gazette of 25 October 1983), and so it can take in foreign and Spanish students alike, with the students having their studies automatically validated for recognition in Britain.

In Secondary education, Oak House (Casa del Roure) is an officially approved centre for teaching the compulsory secondary-education curriculum (called ESO in Spain, or Educación Secundaria Obligatoria) for the 12 to 16 age group, and the higher secondary education (Bachillerato) curriculum for the 16 to 18 age group. During their ESO years, the pupils study in all three of the school’s languages (English, Catalan and Spanish), and a fourth language is also added, with a choice of French or German.

The Higher Secondary education (Bachillerato) years prepare them for admission to university, whether in Spain or elsewhere in Europe.
