Miras International School, Astana formally opened on September, 2, 1999 as a private educational institution offering a curriculum based on the Kazakh National Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) Programmes. Our school was accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Coucil of International Schools (CIS) in 2004 and authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization for the Middle Years Programme (2004) and Primary Years Programme (2007). The school has been granted candidate status for the IB Diploma programme that will be implemented in 2011.
The IB programmes promote education for the whole person by instiling attributes of a «life-long learner» embodied in the IB Learner Profile. The school philosophy is based on the IB mission and emphasizes intellectual, personal and social growth of an individual student through all knowledge domains.
The School provides a holistic, stimulating, balanced and challenging education focussing on the dynamic combination of knowledge, skills, independent critical and creative thinking and international-mindedness. The programs follow three stages: Kindergarten to Grade 5; Grades 6–10; Grade 11.
