Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland (KUMON)

The mission of KLAS is to foster the personal growth of each student, instil a sense of self-awareness as an international citizen, and encourage respect for achievement. The school strives to develop powers of critical and creative thinking, to prepare its students for life as citizens of the world. Recognizing the importance of personal development and self-esteem, the school provides students with varied opportunities for achievement and personal fulfillment through academic studies and other extra-curricular pursuits.
 

The Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland was founded to expand the ability of every student to the maximum, and foster competence in behavior towards global harmony and coexistence, thereby contributing positively to the global community.
 

KLAS promotes the ability to think and behave from a global point of view. In order to realize this, KLAS promotes abilities in reason, language, expression and behavior.

The Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland, KLAS, was founded in 1990 by the Kumon Gakuen Educational Foundation.

KLAS was founded as a private co-educational Japanese boarding high school in the Alpine resort of Leysin, Switzerland, and is in close proximity to the international cities of Geneva and Lausanne.

KLAS is accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). This means that KLAS graduates are eligible for acceptance into Japanese universities. KLAS is also recognized by the Swiss Service de la Protection de la Jeunesse, Departement Sociale et des Assurances, and is a member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS).
