Kiang Wu Nursing College Macau

Established on 16th November 1999 evolving from the former “Kiang Wu Nursing and Midwifery School”, “Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau” is the most long-standing nursing school in Macau ever since. For years the College has been adhering to an educational philosophy of “From personhood to Benevolence” and dedicating to the promotion of nursing care education.

Different types of programmes and lectures or seminars take place in the College every academic year. The faculty members are required to enhance professional and research competencies through clinical practice and lifelong learning. Meanwhile, scientific research activities are actively expanded to explore common development measures on teaching, research, and social service so that practical contributions will be made to the health and wellbeing of social clusters. In order to boost contacts with the external parties, exchange and collaborative projects with a great number of educational and medical institutions have been developed by the College at home and abroad for years.

On the basis of the “Essentials of a Ten-year Development Planning”, KWNC will progressively adjust the curriculum structure to provide diversified and multilevel programmes or courses in nursing and health science. Furthermore, to tackle with the social trend of population aging, the College has establish a Nursing and Health Education Research Centre taking elderly health issue as major concern while giving consideration to other health-related factors so that the objective of teaching, research and social service as an organic whole can be realized. In this connection, we will call for the collective efforts of faculty and students as well as all staff members in the course of gradual expansion of college running scale so as to meet social needs.
