INESLE Madrid - Institute of Spanish is an independent Spanish language and cultural education center based in Madrid. We have been organizing Spanish residential programs for American students since 2007. This program is a summer immersion program for students interested in going deeper in the Spanish language while experiencing authentic Spanish culture by living with a host family.
The students who can participate in this program are since grade 7th until 12th (included).
We work closely with high schools, parents, hosts families, teachers and students to deliver a rounded learning experience and a safe, comfortable and memorable stay in Madrid.
One of the distinguishing features of our program is that each student stays with a Spanish family. We carefully pre-vet each family and match them to the most suitable student. Students are encouraged to join in fully with family life, experiencing the warmth and good humor for which Spanish families are rightly famous. In the process, students will learn how central the family is to Spanish culture while speaking our language, 24/7.
The greatest aspect of our program is that the host siblings are a part of the daily activities of the students. This means that from the time students wake up to the moment they go to bed are accompanied with his/her Spanish host sibling. Every single weekday after the Spanish classes and during the afternoon activities the American student are with the Spanish host siblings. No other program can boast such integration into a host family as well as a total immersion experience. The length of stay is one month and we believe the INESLE experience will have a great impact.
In the classroom, our students follow a curriculum that takes a holistic approach to learning. In addition to the Spanish language classes, all students attend courses in Spanish literature, history, art, geography, social studies and economy. (All our courses are delivered in Spanish to ensure the student’s maximum immersion in our language.)
