Situated in the stunning village of Gstaad overlooking the Swiss Alps, Gstaad International School is one of the most exclusive boarding schools in the world. Courses offered include American High School Diploma, IGCSE, A Level and Pre-University Foundation Year.

Gstaad International School was founded in 1962 and was acquired by British education group, Bellevue Education, in 2012. The school has since then initiated a number of developments aimed at enhancing the overall learning experience, pastoral care and personal development of its students, and has also become accredited as an official Cambridge school as well as a member of the Boarding School Association. Greater subject diversity and integration, in addition to a greater range of extra-curricular activities and cultural excursions are just some of the initiatives the new management team have introduced. The school has historically maintained low student numbers and small class sizes for a personalised learning environment for its students, a philosophy which Bellevue Education and Executive Headmaster Christopher Sanderson continues to believe firmly in. In March 2013 the school acquired the luxury hotel Alpine Lodge located between the villages of Gstaad and Saanen and as such continues its commitment to providing a first class education and experience to its students. From September 2013 the students of Gstaad International School now have moved in to their new Alpine Lodge Campus, to which their facilities include bright and spacious classrooms, art room, fitness centre, boarding rooms, common rooms and outdoor and indoor pools. In addition, they continue to use Chalet Ahorn Campus as boarding facilities.

Gstaad International School offers an international curriculum consisting of the official Cambridge programmes IGCSE and A Levels, in addition to the American High School DiplomaFoundation Year and a Alpine Study Programme. While English is the primary language of instruction, there is also a comprehensive English-as-an-Additional-Language (EAL) programme in place throughout the curriculum. Each course aims to develop an inquiring mind and instill a true love of learning. The school also offers a Summer Camp that is designed for students who are eager to learn, have fun and meet peers from all over the world. The programme provides an opportunity for students to enjoy the summer season to its fullest extent whilst developing their own personal strengths and interests within the stunning alpine setting of Gstaad.

The education at Gstaad International School is complemented by the diverse set of extra-curricular activities which aim to nurture the moral, intellectual and physical growth of the students. The unique surroundings offer the space, beauty and scope for recreation; the boarding accommodation complements this with warmth, care and a place that feels like home. The students themselves come from a variety of backgrounds. This diversity is itself another important component of boarding, giving the students of Gstaad International School an invaluable opportunity to learn about, and appreciate, other cultures and backgrounds. Gstaad International School ensures that all students are able to take part in activities that they enjoy, enabling every individual to develop their own personal strengths and interests. As part of their extensive extra-curricular programme, they offer a range of activities including: paragliding, go-karting, sailing, hiking, white-water rafting, horse riding, art, music, tennis, skiing and snowboarding.
