The Dominican International School (DIS) is formerly a U.S. Government Contract School or a D.O.D. (Department of Defense) School. DIS is a catholic, private school under the supervision of the sisters of the Congregation of the Religious Missionaries of St Dominic which is of Spanish origin and with the Motherhouse located in Rome, Italy.
Dominican International School aims to give a God-centered education, embracing and unifying all the different facets of human culture, giving primordial interest and importance to the teaching of Christian life, cultivating the intellectual faculties, developing the capacity for right judgment, preparing the students for professional life, contributing to the formation of authentic Christians, and to be able to know how to confront life in the present as well as in the future.
Dominican International School adheres to the philosophy of Christian education that "a true education aims at the formation of the human person both with respect to his/her ultimate goal and at the same time with respect to the good of those societies of which as a human being he/she is a member and in whose responsibilities he/she will as an adult share." (Vatican Council II, Declaration of Christian Education, n.1).
