At Bordeaux International School students and teachers come from a wide variety of backgrounds and countries, with approximately 100 pupils aged 2½ years to 18 years, representing approximately 15 nationalities, and whose stay at the school varies from 1 to 8 years.

Throughout the school, students are encouraged to become bilingual so that they can derive the maximum benefit from living in France and mixing with students of different nationalities.

Most families are French-speaking or English-speaking, but some do not speak neither English nor French fluently. Language support is available for students for whom English/French is not the first language.

Students in examination years may need supplementary language support outside the scope of the specialist subject class, in order for them to achieve the requisite level of written expression (at a cost - please see the fees list).

Students can prepare for and sit the Cambridge International IGCSE and Advanced Level examinations.

Full time Boarding facilities are available with French families.

For all enquiries regarding admissions and studying at BIS, please first refer to the extensive information available on our bilingual website, before contacting us via the enquiries form.
